Universal Pictures (also known as Universal Studios or just simply Universal) is an American film production and distribution company. Headquartered in Universal City, California. It is the film studio arm of NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast. It is part of the Big Five in Hollywood.
Universal distributed the 1994 live-action Flintstones movie and its 2000 prequel, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas under "Univershell". Despite The Flintstones franchise is currently owned by Warner Bros. when Turner and Time Warner merged on October 10, 1996, Universal still owns the rights to both of the live-action movies, along with the 1990 animated feature-length movie of The Jetsons, another Hanna-Barbera franchise.
