"Two Men on a Dinosaur" is the eighteenth episode of the sixth season and the one hundred and fifty-eighth overall episode of the original series, The Flintstones. It aired on February 4, 1966.

Synopsis[]

At the races at Hollystone Park, Fred and Barney wager on dinosaurs picked by the Great Gazoo. Gangsters take note of their success and kidnap the two friends so that they can make winning picks for them.

Plot[]

Conversing with his leader, the Great Gazam, via Fred's television, Gazoo learns that his exile remains effective and that he must continue to do good deeds for Fred and Barney. Gazoo is distraught that he is still unwelcome on Zetox, and Fred and Barney console him. Fred and Barney are amazed to discover that Gazoo is adept at predicting the improbable outcomes of dinosaur races, and the pair decide to gamble on Gazoo's ability by attending a race at Hollystone Park and placing bets on dinosaurs picked by Gazoo to emerge victorious.

A pair of thugs, Stoney and Needle Nose, realize that Fred and Barney have a surefire system for choosing winners and that the mysterious Gazoo of whom they speak is their lucrative mastermind. Wilma and Betty finds out and decide to take their money to go shopping. But they couldn’t leave with the things they bought because they felt guilty for taking the money from their husbands despite it from their gambling. So they return the things they bought, and buy things like a bowling bag and fishing rod for Fred and Barney. As usual, Fred and Barney are caught by the criminals and threatened with physical harm if they fail to summon Gazoo.

"Mr. Big" Ed McRock, the criminal leader, a karate expert who can reduce rocks to rubble with a swing of his hand, vows to enact this process on Fred and Barney if they do not cooperate, but, predictably, Gazoo uses his powers to quash the schemers and rescue his friends. On this occasion, he snaps his fingers to cause the villains to karate-chop themselves or each other, thus rendering them painfully unconscious.
