Turtlesaurs (known simply as Turtles, Tortoises or Tortoisaurs) are a species of reptiles which existed during the Stone Age featured in the franchise of The Flintstones.
Background[]
Turtlesaurs were reptiles with mostly a single horn on the top of their heads, stair-like ridges on their necks, green skin, tails and bony shells. Because their shells were integral parts of their bodies, they could not exit it.
Uses[]
According to the franchise of The Flintstones and the book, The Flintstones' Wacky Inventions, Turtlesaurs were commonly used such as tire jacks for fixing cars, including the Flintmobile for example, drum sets, phonographs and record players for playing music, Tortoise Combo Washers for washing dirty dishes, Porto-Tortoise Phones, Tortoise Satellite Dishes, and other uses.
Cuisine[]
They were also edible for food and cuisine, including the dried turtle egg yolks that were used as an ingredient for Shlump, Dino's favorite pet food from the episode, "The X-Ray Story" for example.

Snaposaurus[]

A snaposaurus is the Modern Stone Age equivalent of the snapping turtle. Unlike regular turtlesaurus, these handy, but dangerous little guys had strong pointy jaws that could bite through anything, making them excellent cutting pliers. However they could be violent in the wild where they could take a bite out of anything that came near them, as seen in the Cave Kids comics.
Fred once used one of these in the 20th issue of The Great Gazoo comics to free Gazoo from his jail cell.
