Sam Slagheap (known as The Exaulted Grand Poobah) is the Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes and a recurring character of the franchise of The Flintstones.

Background[]

Sam Slagheap has consistently been portrayed as the Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes throughout most of the franchise who stands behind a podium to instruct fellow members on the purpose of the meetings at the Water Buffalo Lodge.

Physical Appearance[]

Sam is a short and diminutive caveman with fair skin, tan stubbles, black eyes, thick black eyebrows, a bald head with two brown hair tufts, a black or white bowtie, and wears a blue short-sleeved loincloth with a torn hemline, a necklace that has a stone with a letter "P" or a gold star medal and a blue Water Buffalo Lodge horned hat.

  • Unlike other characters, Sam's appearance varied throughout the run of the series and also the franchise.
  • The name "Grand Poohbah" is a reference to the character from the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, The Mikado.
