Saber-Toothed Cats or Saber-Toothed Catasauruses (known simply as Cats or Catasauruses) are a species of carnivorous felines which existed during the Stone Age featured in the franchise of The Flintstones.

Background[]

Saber-toothed cats were carnivorous felines with white canine-like teeth in their upper jaws, whiskers, various colored skin (including orange or yellow) with either spots or stripes and tails.

According to the franchise of The Flintstones, saber-toothed cats were commonly used as domestic pets including a notable and recurring character, Baby Puss for example, and lived in Bedrock's alleys and in the wild. Also, they were used in clothing, including loin cloths, full-length coats and other clothes. Their hides or bodies could even be made into carpets, chairs or mounted trophy furnishings.

Cuisine[]

They were also edible for food and cuisine, including Saber-Toothed Tigersaurus giblets as an ingredient for Shlump, Dino's favorite pet food from the episode, "The X-Ray Story" for example.

Breeds[]

Although some were simply called cats with unique names, there were different varieties of cats in various sizes, such as ones with various colored fur (yellow or orange) with either various colored spots or stripes (brown or black), whiskers and tails.

Tigersaurus[]

Saber-Toothed Tigersauruses (known simply as Tigers or Tigersauruses) were large breeds of cats with orange fur, black or brown stripes and long saber teeth. For example, a tigersaurus was shown in the episode, "Peek-a-Boo Camera". They were also edible and could be made into chops as shown in "The Rock Vegas Story".

Lionsaurus[]

Saber-Toothed Lionsauruses (known simply as Lions, Lionsauruses) were also large breeds of cats with various colored fur (including orange or yellow), and manes, black noses and long saber teeth. For example, a notable lionsaurus named Kitty was shown as a one-time character in the episode, "Flintstone and the Lion".

Saber-Toothed Leopardsauruses (known simply as a Leopards or Leopardsauruses) were breeds of cats with yellow fur with black spots and long saber-teeth which they were used for clothing including shirts and ties for example and other uses. For example, a leopardsaurus was shown from a June 16, 1962 comic strip.

Pantherasaurus[]

A black Saber-Toothed Pantherasaurus (known simply as a Panther or Pantherasaurus) was an extremely rare breed of cat that was only shown in the episode, "A Night of Fright" from The Flintstone Comedy Show.
