The Flintstones

Lizardsauruses (also known simply as Lizards) are a species of reptiles which existed during the Stone Age featured in the franchise of The Flintstones.

Background[]

Lizardsauruses were small bipedal reptiles that could also walk on all fours. They were the smallest of the creatures seen in The Flintstones franchise.

Uses[]

Because of their small sizes, lizardsauruses were popularly used as handheld appliances or used to manage larger machines.

Appliances[]

Due to their small size, their most frequent use was as small handheld appliances or hand-tools. Commonly enjoying use as can openers, jacks, eggbeaters, juicers, blenders and other such things. Or even operating java machines. Because of their sharp and serrated back ridges, they also made excellent cutting tools, often being used as knives, saws or even chainsaws.

Some also enjoyed rare usage as musical instruments, such as lizard xylophones.

Lizardsaurus Motors[]

Aside from appliances, their most valued role in modern stone age society was as motors operating larger devices, with the most important and used lizardsaurus motors being the ones used for cavemobiles, in that while they were mainly foot-powered by the drivers, the lizardsaurus could keep the car going when the driver grew tired, needing only to be refilled with dino-fuel (a.k.a. water) at a gas station to keep going. Aside from being motors, lizarsauruses could also double as operators or even operating systems for more complex stone age electrical devices such as stone TVs and stone computers respectively.

Culinary Uses[]

Although their small size provided little meat, their gizzards were harvested as a popular ingredient or topping for other foods like Bronto-ribs which were Fred's favorite dish. They could even be eaten whole and live, which made for popular lizard sandwiches.

Powdered lizardsaurus gizzards could also be used as an ingredient in potions as seen in "Frog for a Day".

Breeds and Relatives[]

Horned-Toad Lizardsaurus[]

The Horned-Toad Lizardsaurus (or simply Horned Lizardsaurus) was a plump breed of lizardsaurus with a prominent horn on their nose. They could be used as peeling appliances or be harvested for their meat which made for popular easy to heat frozen dinners.

Iguanasaurus[]

The Iguanasaurus (or simply Iguana) is a small green lizardsaurus with hair-like frills on its back and a bipedal posture. Its usually seen being used as a mixer in modern stone age kitchens.

Man-Eating Iguanasaurus[]

The Man-Eating Iguanasaurus is a larger, deadlier and belly-dragging breed of purple-colored iguanasaurus with sharp teeth and spiky ridges along its back that, true to its name, may eat caveman alive if given the chance. One was owned and somehow tamed by the monstrous Gobby Gruesome.

Gila Monster[]

Gila Monsters are monstrous-looking lizardsauruses with large mouths, sharp teeth and spiky back ridges that look almost exactly like the man-eating iguanasauruses but with brown skin and a pink muzzle. One was owned and somehow tamed by little Gobby Gruesome. In "The Gruesomes", Fred briefly thought the creature had eaten Gobby whole. Being compared to a gila monster or a saber-toothed cat is also considered a bad ranking for husbands in magazine quizzes as seen in "Fred Strikes Out".

Giant Lizardsaurus[]

The Giant Lizardsaurus (resembling the real-life dinosaur, Baryonyx) is like the largest and rarest breed of lizardsaurus, being around the same size as a caveman or larger. Unlike their smaller relatives, the giant variant were far more vicious (or at least could be raised as such for Hollyrock films as seen in "Fred Meets Hercurock").
