Iwao Takamoto (April 29, 1925 – January 8, 2007) was an American animator, character, production and creative designer who worked on the franchise of The Flintstones by Hanna-Barbera.

Career

Takamoto left Disney in 1961 and joined Hanna-Barbera Productions. He worked in several positions there, but is arguably best known as a character designer ever which he was responsible for Astro, Scooby-Doo and other characters. Before that, he had worked on Disney films, such as Sleeping Beauty for example.
