Hoppy is the Rubbles' family pet Hopparoo and a fictional character of the fifth and sixth seasons of the original series, The Flintstones.

Background

Hoppy debuts in the fifth season episode "Hop Happy", where Barney and Betty Rubble acquire him as a new house pet for Bamm-Bamm. He babysits the kids as he takes them around in his pouch.

Personality

Hoppy is very playful and friendly and he seems to be very good at boxing, which Fred Flintstone found out the hard way. At first, Fred regards Hoppy as an overgrown, obnoxious nuisance until the day came when the Flintstones and Rubbles are endangered while out on a picnic and Hoppy goes for help. Hoppy becomes good friends with Dino and often helps with babysitting the children.

Hoppy is a Hopparoo with green skin, three black hairs on his head, five black spots on the top of his knees, yellow-tan muzzle on his face, with six light green spikes on his back.
