- For the song featured in the VHS release, Bedrockin' and Rappin', see Hollyrock (song).
Hollyrock is the entertainment capital of the world and one of the recurring locations of the franchise of The Flintstones. It is famous for its movie studios and where its movie stars live.
Background[]
It is the prehistoric entertainment capital of the world, usually involves an "airplane" flight – the "plane" in this case often shown as either a giant pterodactyl (with the passenger compartment being a hollowed-out log strapped to the pterodactyl's back) or a wooden plane with smaller pterodactyls on each wing as the "engines".
In the episode of the first season, "The Monster from the Tar Pits" it shows the boss, Mr. Sandstone of the movie studio Miracle Pictures talking to one of his directors about staging his movie in a real town with actors Wednesday Tuesday, Rock Pile, Gary Granite and Fred Flintstone as the monster. When asked where, Sandstone walks to a flat earth globe, closes his eyes, points to an area of the map and chooses Bedrock.
