Harold John Smith (August 24, 1916 – January 28, 1994) was an American actor and voice actor who was best known as the voices of Fred's uncle, Tex Hardrock and other animated characters from the original series, The Flintstones and also Santa Claus from A Flintstone Christmas by Hanna-Barbera. He was known for portraying Otis the Town Drunk in The Andy Griffith Show and voicing Owl in the franchise of Disney's Winnie the Pooh.

Career

For Hanna-Barbera, Hal played various voice roles in the original series, The Flintstones in which he mostly did the voice of Fred's rich uncle Tex Hardrock and also Santa Claus from A Flintstone Christmas.
