The Gatorsaurus (also known as the Alligatorsaurus or simply as a Gator or an Alligator) is a species of carnivorous reptile which existed during the Stone Age featured in the franchise of The Flintstones.
Background[]
Gatorsauruses were large, semi-aquatic and carnivorous four-legged reptiles with green or variously colored scaly skin with or without spots, horns on the top of their wider snout, white razor-sharp jaws, claws on their feet and a spiked ridge on their back and tail.
Uses[]
Unlike other animals and reptiles that were commonly used, the Gatorsaurus was used such as Gator-Clock Punchers for punching time cards at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company with their workers' fists including Fred's, Gator-Boards from The Flintstone Kids, ironing boards, handbags, washing machines and other uses.
Culinary Uses[]
They were also edible for food and cuisine, including their ribs as an ingredient for Shlump, Dino's favorite pet food from the episode, "The X-Ray Story" for example.

A Crocosaurus (also called a Rockodile or simply the Crocodile) was a relative of the Gatorsaurus with a shorter snout that was mostly seen in the wild as hostile river dwellers. However they could be tamed and used as toll booths, presses, and card punchers.

Notes/Trivia[]
- These species are based on Sarcosuchus, a genus of large crocodyliform and Deinosuchus, a relative of the modern Alligator and the Caiman (they all belong to the superfamily, Alligatoroidae).
