  • The title is a spoof and allusion to the 2004 R-rated horror film, Dawn of the Dead.
  • This episode is notable for being the first not to have the Crags, the whole selling point of the series.

Behind the Scenes[]

Writer of the episode and creator of the character, Joan Ford, intended for Shaley to be a transsexual girl, although the series was cancelled before those plans could be fully realized. Ford would've preferred a trans actor to be the voice of Shaley, but the budget wouldn't allow for an additional guest.

Ford also got to be involved with the design of Shaley, and was pleased with the final look, which she felt was a little bit relatable particularly with Shaley's bang over one of her eyes.
